The NLUs represent the second-generation reforms in legal education. The first NLU, named as National Law School of India University (NLSIU) was established under the National Law School of India Act (Karnataka Act 22 of 1986).
Apr 30, 2022 · The ‘Centre for Investment Laws’ was established as a university-level research centre in 2021, by the Tamil Nadu National Law University (TNNLU) in response to the growing need for investment laws through leadership and capacity building in India and particularly the State of Tamilnadu.
These programmes blend a deep understanding of the theoretical aspects of the law, practical know-how, and applications and examples from the field. NLSIU’s PACE programmes are provided in a hybrid online format, and use learning materials specially crafted for distance education.
NLSIU offers a one-year postgraduate degree in law (Master of Laws), organized around three trimesters every academic year.
