It was founded on the conviction that, over the next decade, humanity could add as much as 45 billion extra years of higher-quality life (roughly six years per person on average—and substantially more in some countries and populations).
In addition to her work helping Chinese and global businesses, she served as a director of the McKinsey Global Institute (MGI) from 2013-2024. She also led McKinsey's Cities Special Initiative, convening McKinsey's work with city, regional, and national authorities in more than 40 geographies worldwide.
