Sep 4, 2021 · Paani Foundation was created in 2016, with the vision of making Maharashtra drought-free. From 2016 to 2019, Paani Foundation organized four Water Cup competitions, whose main objective was to make villages water secure through watershed development.
Around a thousand villages in these 40 talukas of Maharashtra are eligible to participate in Paani Foundation’s competition, the Satyamev Jayate Samruddha Gaon Spardha. These talukas are spread across 18 districts in the zones of North Maharashtra, Western Maharashtra, Marathwada and Vidarbha. Does Paani Foundation work outside of Maharashtra?
Paani Foundation equips villages and farmers with knowledge, training, and the competition platform. We do not implement any work directly on the ground. This model fosters a spirit of self-reliance, where villages and farmers implement on-ground solutions themselves, building long-term ownership and sustainability.
