The Caretaker is about as madcap as it comes, in that deliciously pressuring nature of this type of film. The rhythm is off-beat, oppressive, joyously unpredictable. Scenes extend themselves for what seem to be ages, piling dialogue on top of dialogue, characters blabbering on about fascinatingly uninteresting topics, going on tangents, oversharing in circles.
