David Snell (born 12 May, 1936) is a British harpist, composer and conductor who has worked across a wide range of genres, from jazz, pop and soundtracks through to library music and classical concert works. Snell was born in Grantham, Lincolnshire and took his first piano lessons there from local teacher Frank Rawle. He played as a pianist with the local Jimmy Carr Orchestra before leaving Grantham for National Service in 1954 with the Royal Artillery. He then studied harp with Marie Goossens.

In 1916 he paid £1150 to the widow of Joseph Parry (1841 - 1903) for the stock and copyright of the works published by the composer, and about the same time he bought the business of David Jenkins, Aberystwyth, who died in 1915. During the 1920s he augmented his catalogue by buying the output of companies which had closed down and the works of composers who published their own compositions, republishing the whole under his own name.
