Jan 7, 2024 · India Government Mint, Hyderabad (‘IGM Hyderabad), a unit of Security Printing And Minting Corporation of India Limited (‘SPMCIL’) is one of the four Mints that is engaged in the manufacture and supply of coins to Reserve Bank of India for the purpose of circulation.
SPMCIL has collaborated with various institutes such as IIT Roorkee, ISB Hyderabad, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Bangalore, IIM Noida, AJNIFM, SHRM, CPPRI, ISTM, ESCI etc. for relevant learning programs from time-to-time.
SPMCIL delves into sovereign functions of Currency printing and security ink production; Security printing; Banknote Paper production and Coin (circulating and commemorative) and medal production. The SPMCIL R&D division research efforts are focused in areas of importance to SPMCIL sovereign functions.
There are two Security printing presses of SPMCIL, namely the India Security Press (ISP) at Nashik and Security Printing Press (SPP) at Hyderabad. These presses print the 100% requirement of passports and other travel documents, non-judicial stamp papers, cheques, bonds, warrants, postal stamps and postal stationery and other security products.
