We, at IIT Kharagpur have developed a few softwae modules for conducting laboratory experiments virtually. The modules aim to provide a learning experience, similar to the hands on one in a real laboratory, through use of computer simulator and graphic tools.

The Virtual Laboratory is an interactive environment for creating and conducting simulated experiments: a playground for experimentation. It consists of domain-dependent simulation programs, experimental units called objects that encompass data files, tools that operate on the objects.
This lab attempts to provide basic concepts to the students on a wide range of topics including Requirements analysis, ER modeling, identification of domain classes, use-case diagrams and designing a test suite. Ample illustrations and simulations are used to reinforce one's understanding.
The experiments being developed can be used by a teacher to learn as well as compile a lab course or use as supplementary aid by selecting a combination of experiments from different virtual labs. This particular lab is titled “Fading Channels and Mobile Communications Virtual lab”.
