    Despite being a major UK city, Cardiff isn’t horrifically busy, giving you some space and room to breathe. However, there are times when you might want to avoid the city centre if you’re not getting involved in the festivities, like on match days.

    Some of Cardiff University’s buildings, such as the Bute Building and Queen’s Building, are listed. Simply just walking around these spots to admire the architecture is a wonderful way to spend a summer afternoon.

    Many of Cardiff University’s buildings are located centrally, so you get the full experience of living and studying in the city with all the associated hustle and bustle.

    If you aregetting involved in the festivities, Cardiff truly comes alive on match days. Principality Stadium, home of the Welsh national rugby union team, is right next to Cardiff Central Station too, so it’s easily walkable from the city centre.

    Cardiff is only an hour or so away from the Brecon Beacons and the stunning area around it. Waterfalls, woodlands and quaint country pubs not far from the city – perfect for day trips when you need a break from studying.

    Cardiff has great links to other cities, which is handy for work experience opportunities. Bristol is a short journey away, but London and Manchester can also be reached by a direct train.
