Mahabharata was composed by Vyasa much before but it was penned down by Lord Ganesha in human world after the war was over and Dhitrashra, Vidura etc left. Again, it was narrated 1st time in human world after the Sarpa yagna by Janmajeya.

Ramayana occurred almost 16 lakh years ago. However, the composition of Ramayana was done in Classical Sanskrit, as was the case of Upanishads.
The Bhagavad Gita portions are in fact a live running commentary by Sanjaya to Dhritarashtra. The author Sri Vyasa in Mahabharata gives Bhagavad Gita to us through Sanjaya only. 2) Barbarika, son of Ghatotkacha; Barbarika name and the episode is not mentioned in Mahabharata.
