- Don Marquis (/ ˈmɑːrkwɪs / MAR-kwis; November 2, 1935 – September 13, 2022) was an American philosopher and deontologist whose main academic interests were in ethics and medical ethics. Marquis was Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the University of Kansas until his death.
