Ramakrishna Mission Vivekananda College, named after Swami Vivekananda, was formally inaugurated on 21 June 1946 [1] by professor, philosopher, and politician, Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. It is in Mylapore, the centre of Chennai, India, on 20 acres (81,000 m 2).
Swami Vivekananda, the illustrious disciple of Sri Ramakrishna, gave the first impetus to it by starting the Ramakrishna Mission in 1897. The Mission is endeavouring to realise its aims through its various branches numbering more than two hundred in India and abroad.
