About Us. Our journey began in 1986 with a bunch of nature lovers working on wildlife and forest conservation to raise environmental awareness in our society. Our aim was to raise an environmentally conscious generation by conducting studies on natural history and bringing environmental education in schools and colleges.
In 2020, Thanal initiated sustainable livelihood programs, recognizing their crucial role in uplifting marginalized communities. These programs serve as a catalyst, providing economically viable and ecologically sustainable opportunities for those often underserved.
Thanal provides a nurturing environment where individuals can collaborate, grow, and take concrete steps towards conservation. Through practical workshops and supportive mentorship, Thanal empowers its members to make a real difference in environmental stewardship.
Thanal is an indigenous humanitarian organisation and association founded by a group of local community members and professionals in Vadakara in 2008. For 15 years, it has been actively involved in humanitarian activities throughout India, with a special focus on holistic rehabilitation.
