    Swara is born and brought up in an environment of diverse Indian cultures as her father, Chitrapu Uday Bhaskar, is a Telugu, and her mother, Ira Bhaskar is a Bihari. Her father retired as a Commodore officer from the Indian Navy, he is also known as an expert and a critic of Indian security and strategic affairs. Whereas, her mother is a professor of Cinema Studies. Swara has also an elder brother Ishan Bhaskar.

    Husband

    On 6 January 2023, she got married to Fahad Ahmad, a political activist. They registered their wedding in court under the Special Marriage Act. On 23 September 2023, Swara Bhaskar gave birth to a baby girl. Swara and Fahad later named her Raabiyaa.
