Rakvere is a town in northern Estonia and the administrative centre of Lääne-Viru County, 20 km south of the Gulf of Finland of the Baltic Sea. From the 13th century until the early 20th century, Rakvere was more widely known by its historical German name, Wesenberg(h).

Dec 28, 2021 · Short answer: most definitely. Rakvere is one of the oldest towns in Estonia and home to more than enough attractions to justify a trip. Even though it’s only a small town it’s a very green place, which isn’t too uncommon for Estonia, and one with plenty of history.
