It means the power of -1, which means that it is 1/ (s). For example 2^-1 would be 1/2 whereas 2^-2 would be 1/4. Simply raise the number to the power and put it as the denominator with the numerator being 1. In this case the mm s^-1 can be written as mm/s which can mean millimeters per second. 1. Your lecturer is right, you need at least 360 credits to get an honours degree. You also need to graduate with a least a third in all modules taken (i.e. you can't fail any modules completely.) Also if you have to re-take any modules, you may not graduate with honours; depends on the university. Personally I don't think it makes much difference.
Timezone 1 are all countries that are "under" IBNA (North America and the Caribbean) and IBLA (Latin America). Timezone 2 are countries "under" IBAEM (Africa/Europe/Middle East) and IBAP (Asia-Pacific). Timezone 0 is for papers that are same in every country. In M05 session there were different papers only for Biology, Mathematics and Physics.
