In the season 4 episode 'A Change is Gonna Come,' Izzie began working on a deer, and her interns didn't understand why this was happening. While they found it laughable, Izzie was passionate about medicine and determined to do her job.
When Izzie was diagnosed with cancer, her mother Robbie visited the hospital, unaware of how bad the cancer was. Before she left, she said to Izzie that she always knew she was too good for the trailer park. Izzie said she loved her mother, but they work better at a distance.
I know a lot of people hate Izzie, and honestly for some good reasons. But I was a fan of her character from the beginning, and she was my favorite during my first watch-through. In my opinion she was the MAGIC underdog, even more than George, since he had his shining moments and was Bailey’s favorite (for good reason).
While I do agree that season 1 Izzie is the best Izzie, I'm not really a fan of her character. She definitely can be lovable and caring. My issue was that she was way too often judgy, pushy, nosy, dramatic, immature, and deeply selfish with a regular disregard for plainly set boundaries.
