Jul 5, 2023 · Saint Marie, Montana is an eerie, mostly-abandoned town with a history of military presence and recent anti-government activity. Written by. Jessica Wick. Nothing overtly tragic has ever occurred in the tiny community of Saint Marie, Montana (sometimes spelled St. Marie).
St Marie. St. Marie is located 17 miles north of Glasgow. Nearby, Fort Peck Reservoir is Montana's largest body of water. The lake is about 134 miles in length and has 1,520 miles of shoreline which is longer than the California coast.
Saint Marie is increasingly dubbed as Montana’s most recent addition to its list of ‘ Ghost Towns ’. The difference between this ghost town and the others is that the older ones contain remnants of ramshackle towns from the state’s mining era of the late 1800s.
