Newport (Welsh: Casnewydd [kasˈnɛwɨð]) is a city and county borough in Wales, situated on the River Usk close to its confluence with the Severn Estuary, 12 mi (19 km) northeast of Cardiff.
- The Cliff Walk. The Newport Cliff Walk is at the top of everyone’s list of the best things to do in Newport, and it’s honestly my favorite thing to do here as well, and completely worth the praise it receives.
- Walk To Goat Island Lighthouse. Goat Island Lighthouse is a beautiful little lighthouse on (as I’m sure you’ve guessed) Goat Island. The island is part of the city of Newport, and is easily walkable from downtown Newport.
- Explore Bowen’s Wharf. Bowen’s Wharf is probably the most touristy part of Newport, and yet, it still feels really authentic and fun. And if anyone is a fan of the KJP brand from Instagram, you can find the Kiel James Patrick flagship store, owned by the creative husband and wife team, here at Bowen’s Wharf.
- Go Wine Tasting. A short 15 minute drive outside of downtown Newport, and you’ll find yourself at Newport Vineyards, where you can enjoy calming views of the grapevines and enjoy tasting some local wines.
