While Glory is a good film, it's also highly fictionalized. First of all, pretty much the only real character in Glory was Robert Gould Shaw. Everyone else you see on screen is fictional.

The movie has an excellent cast which includes Mathew Broderick (only three years after he was in Ferris Buellers Day Off), Denzel Washington, and Morgan Freeman.
