Akbari Asghari is a 2011 Pakistani comedy-drama television series loosely based on Nazir Ahmad Dehlvi 's Mirat-ul-Uroos. A modern-day comical adaptation of the novella, the series was written by Faiza Iftikhar and directed by Haissam Hussain.
Mirat-ul-Uroos contrasts the lives of the grandchildren of Akbari and Asghari. Akbari's first granddaughter Aiza is arrogant, a spendthrift and has been raised with a lot of love, while her second granddaughter Aima is the exact opposite of Aiza.
