Nothing about the robbery was said (or even alluded to) at his trial, which was a relief to Shadow. He served his time gladly, since it meant Laura’s name was kept out of the matter entirely— and was paroled 3 years early for good behavior. In my opinion, this makes Laura’s betrayal even worse.
