Hässelby-Vällingby is a borough (stadsdelsområde) in the western part of Stockholm, Sweden. It is primarily made up of Hässelby (Gård, Strand, Villastad) and Vällingby. The other districts that make up the borough are Backlura, Kälvesta, Nälsta, Råcksta and Vinsta.
I've lived in that area for over 20 years. I'd maybe avoid Hässelby Gård specifically, but rest of Hässelby such as Hässelby Strand and Vinsta are absolutely safe and pleasant places to live with a family.
Hässelby Villastad was a separate municipality 1926–1948, but was incorporated in the City of Stockholm from 1 January 1949. The town hall of the former municipality is now a museum. Hässelby Villastad is a city district of Stockholm, in the north-western part of the Swedish capital Stockholm.

Hässelby Castle (Hässelby slott) was built first in the 1640s by the riksråd Karl Bonde, who owned it until his death 1652. The original architect was Simon de la Vallée and the castle was finished about the 1660s by his son Jean de la Vallée, when Karl's son Gustaf Bonde owned it.
