Oct 30, 2020 · I think there's a neat movie in there hampered by it being for kids. It seemed like it wanted to be a bit darker than it was until execs got involved and had to tell the production staff "uhh this is supposed to be a kids movie" and it got toned down. It's fun. I watched it for the first time since like 1997 a few weeks ago. I kind of liked it.

I remember watching it in the cinema at release and adored every minute. Part of me tells me I should not love it as much as I do but I ignore that inner voice. The soundtrack is especially fantastic.
Sep 22, 2024 · Cronenberg's remake is probably a top 10 horror movie of all time in my opinion, but I never had seen the original 1958 Sci-fi drive in feature. I have The Fly Collection from Scream Factory and popped in the first movie to correct that. This movie is funnier than I expected and has good acting from all, especially the legend Vincent Price.

It's absolutely Near Dark (1987), where Kathryn Bigelow knocks it out of the fucking park and casts Lance Henriksen, Jenette Goldstein, and Bill motherfuckin' Paxton as the meanest redneck vampires you'll ever see on screen. The roadhouse sequence is downright apocalyptic.
