Calumet (/ ˌkæljuˈmɛt / KAL-yuu-MET or locally / ˌkæljəˈmɛt / KAL-yə-MET) is a village in the Upper Peninsula of the U.S. state of Michigan. The village is located within Calumet Township, Houghton County, and had a population of 621 at the 2020 census. Calumet was once the center of Michigan's copper mining industry.

Feb 15, 2024 · Calumet is a peek into the Keweenaw’s rich mining, cultural, and political history, and is well worth a visit if you are passing through. You can stop for a bite to eat, grab a drink, go shopping, and bask in the historical architecture surrounding you on every block.
Calumet is a village rich in history. The Visitor Center is the closest thing to time travel. Visitor's have an opportunity to learn about all aspects of the community at the peak of the copper boom. The Visitor Center is operated by the National Park Service so the exhibits are first rate.
