Barbezieux-Saint-Hilaire ( French pronunciation: [baʁbəzjø sɛ̃.t‿ilɛʁ]) is a commune in the Charente department, Southwestern France. The commune was formed in 1973 by the merger of the former communes Barbezieux and Saint-Hilaire. [3] With 4,714 inhabitants (2019), it forms the most important town in Southern Charente.
Barbezieux-Saint-Hilaire, located in the heart of the small champagne, has several advantages for the development of a framework for pleasant and attractive living. The city has managed to preserve its architectural heritage, built around the two key buildings such as the castle, dating from the fifteenth century, and St. Mathias church built in the eleventh century.
