Alhaurín el Grande is a town located in the province of Málaga in the autonomous community of Andalusia in southern Spain. It covers an area of 73.1 km 2 extending from the northern slope of the Sierra de Mijas and the plain of the Guadalhorce river , where alternate crops of citrus and other fruit trees orchards are found.
Located at the foot of the Sierra de Mijas mountains, on the north face and overlooking the splendid Valle del Guadalhorce, Alhaurín El Grande has an abundance of citrus and fruit trees and market gardens.
Alhaurin el Grande has a population of approximately 25,000 and is situated a bit more inland compared to its sister town Alhaurin de la Torre. These two are at least 15 kilometers apart. It’s only 30 minutes to the coast which makes it ideally placed for nearby beaches.
