Natarajan Chandrasekaran (born 2 June 1963) is an Indian businessman, and the chairman of Tata Sons. [1] [2] He was chief operating officer (COO) and executive director of Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), where in 2009, he became chief executive officer (CEO).
N Chandrasekaran is the Executive Chairman of Tata Sons, the principal holding company of the Tata group. He is supported by a team of directors, including Ajay Piramal, Venu Srinivasan, Harish Manwani and others.
Natarajan Chandrasekaran took over as Chairman of Tata Sons on 21 February 2017. The company also undertook conversion from a public limited company to a private limited one in 2017; both these decisions were challenged in court by former executive chairman Cyrus Mistry.
Tata Sons is the principal investment holding company and promoter of Tata companies, with 66% of its equity share capital held by philanthropic trusts. It follows a governance philosophy of fair, transparent, accountable and ethical management, and guides the group companies with the Tata Code of Conduct and the Tata Business Excellence Model.
