GROWTH OF JUDICIARY IN DAKSHINA KANNADA DISTRICT. Prior to 1860 Dakshina Kannada District was part of Kanara District which was administered by Madras Presidency. In the said year Kanara District was divided as South Kanara and North Kanara districts, but continued in Madras Presidency.
