Biography. Harold E. Layton received the A.B. degree in mathematics from Asbury College, Wilmore, KY, in 1979, the M.S. degree in physics from the University of Kentucky, Lexington, in 1980, and the Ph.D. degree in mathematics from Duke University, Durham, NC, in 1986.
