    Kamala Sadagopan was born on September 5, 1935. Kamala married Sadagopan alias Chitralaya Kopu. She had four sons. Her son T.A. Narasimhan writes stories under the pseudonym Kalachakaram Narasimha. Another son Sri Ram is a playwright and a screenplay writer.

    Kamala started writing well before her marriage and was the co-editor of the Jaganmohini magazine. One of her stories was published in Vijaya Vikatanmagazine when she was 16. Her novels were published in a series in Kalaimagal magazine. Kadhavuis a noteworthy novel among her works.
