Karen Grassle was born in northern California and moved to Ventura with her family when she was 5 years old. As a child, she studied at a dance academy and acted in school plays. She graduated from Ventura High School in 1959. [2]
Nov 22, 2020 · After graduating high school, Karen Grassle young enrolled in the University of California and studied English and drama. She would later further her studies in London at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, where she eventually became the voice department head.
From 1959 to 1960, Karen Grassle pursued her education at H. Sophie Newcomb Memorial College, which is affiliated with Tulane University, before transferring to the University of California, Berkeley. In 1965, she graduated from UC Berkeley with Bachelor of Arts degrees in English and Dramatic Art.

She was interested in acting, and took part in several school plays. She also sang in a Baptist choir. During her senior year in high school, Grassle was the vice president of the student body. She received a "Girl of the Year" award from her high school. In 1959, Grassle graduated from the Ventura High School.
