1957. JOHN DONALD BLACK was born in Jefferson County, Wisconsin, in 1883. After graduating from Oshkosh Normal School in 1905, he was a high school teacher for two years before entering the University of Wisconsin, from which he received a B.A. degree in 1909 and an M.A. degree in 1910.
