Teaching and learning at Lathom is a superb strength of our school. Students are supported by dedicated subject specialists who deliver the curriculum with passion and enthusiasm and who are determined to know and understand our students extremely well.
Our Life at Lathom offer is intended to give every student a range of wider learning experiences which takes them beyond their own everyday experiences and enables them, regardless of their background, to be socially mobile, culturally aware and well equipped to succeed in life.
The school prides itself on allowing students to exercise its democratic rights and encourages students to make a positive impact to daily school life. The Student Team Leaders of Lathom High School represent their peers in official occasions, and are the point of reference between students and staff. Head Boy.

At Lathom High School we follow 2 different reading programmes: Accelerated Reader. We use Accelerated Reader at Lathom High School, a program that helps teachers manage and monitor student’s independent reading practice. Using Accelerated Reader (AR) is easy and simple for students.
