  3. I honestly could never understand why the film was so badly received, I really liked it. Yes it certainly had some controversial casting choices, was a tad cynical, took a lot of liberties from the source material, maybe went on a bit to long, struggled slightly balancing the serious scenes with the silly and tried to hard to ape the POTC franchise.
