Hofgeismar (German pronunciation: [hoːfˈɡaɪ̯smaʁ] ⓘ) is a town in the district of Kassel, in northern Hesse, Germany. It is located 25 km north of Kassel on the German Timber-Frame Road. In 1978 and in 2015, the town hosted the 18th Hessentag state festival.
At the crossroads of the historic German Framework Road and the German Fairy Tale Road lies probably one of the most beautiful German cities, Hofgeismar. Jun 21, 2020 · The Sababurg is a wonderful old castle within the Reinhardswald forest and belongs to Hofgeismar, Germany. It dates back to the year 1334 and carried different names over time: first, it was the Zappenburg protecting pilgrims, as the Zapfenburg it was later used for hunting.
The half-timbered and Sleeping Beauty town of Hofgeismar is located in the middle of the Reinhardswald nature park, in the three-state corner of Hesse / Westphalia / Lower Saxony and only approx. 25 km away from the Documenta city of Kassel with UNESCO World Heritage status.
