Livno is situated in the foot of the Mt.Krug, at the slopes of Bašajkovac hill. Later on it spreads out towards the largest karst field in Bosnia and Herzegovina. For the centuries it was an economic and administrative centre of the area of Tropolje (three-field) or simply West Bosnia. The town sits at 724 meters above sea level.
