Harilal Mohandas Gandhi (formerly Abdullah Gandhi; born Hiralal Mohandas Gandhi; 23 August 1888 – 18 June 1948) was the eldest son of Mahatma Gandhi and Kasturba Gandhi. He had three younger brothers: Manilal Gandhi , Ramdas Gandhi and Devdas Gandhi .
Harilal Gandhi was the eldest and the most rebellious son of Mahatma Gandhi, a prominent leader of the Indian independence movement. He lived a life of addiction, crime, and failure, and died four months after his father's funeral in 1948.
The Gandhi couple had four more children, all sons: Harilal, born in 1888; Manilal, born in 1892; Ramdas, born in 1897; and Devdas, born in 1900.
