E-Stamping is a computer-based application and a secured way of paying non-judicial stamp duty to the Government. The prevailing system of physical stamp paper/franking is being replaced by E-stamping system. E-Stamping is currently operational in a number of States and Union Territories.

Earlier, the stamp duty for property registration had to be done physically by visiting the sub-registrar's office. With the e-stamped paper process, most can now be done online.
