Bharat Vikas Parishad is inspired by the teachings and ideals of Swami Vivekanand and in fact it was founded by very energetic and dedicated personalities only on Swamiji’s Birth Centenary day in 1963.
It was initially formed with name - Citizens Council to mobilize people against Chinese attacks on Indian territory but was later renamed and registered as a society on 10 July 1963. Its primary purpose is to organize Indian citizens for philanthropic work. [1] BVP is a member of Sangh Parivar.
