The National Institute of Engineering (NIE) has been at the forefront of technical education in Karnataka, through the continuous implementation of Outcome Based Education (OBE), ensuring that our graduates are able to face up to the challenges demanded by the engineering profession.
The broad objectives of the Institute cover conducting epidemiological studies, development of human resources in epidemiology and bio-statistics, networking of the various ICMR and non-ICMR Institutes at the national level for epidemiological purposes, and consultancy.
NIE is a grant-in-aid institution and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. NIE got autonomous status from Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi in 2007. It has been accredited by NAAC.
