The College of Agriculture, Junagadh started functioning in the month of June, 1960. The college was affiliated to Gujarat University, Ahmedabad from its inception till the year 1967. Subsequently, on inception of Saurashtra University in 1968 at Rajkot, the affiliation was transferred to it. Old Agriculture College Building at Sardar Bag.
The Government of Gujarat has established four Agricultural Universities viz., Anand Agricultural University, Junagadh Agricultural University, Navsari Agricultural University, and Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University for imparting education in agriculture and allied science in State of Gujarat under Gujarat Agricultural Universities Act, 2004 ( Gujarat Act. No. 5 of 2004.)
The College of Agriculture, Junagadh started in June 1960. The college was affiliated to Gujarat University, Ahmedabad until 1967. Affiliation was transferred to Saurashtra University in 1968. The Gujarat Agricultural University was established in February 1972 but split into four Universities in 2004 (Gujarat Agricultural University Act - 2004).
The Junagadh Krushi university is the same as Junagadh Agricultural university and is located in Gujarat. It has various college campuses offering various courses. The jurisdiction of this University is seven districts-Junagadh, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar, Amreli, Bhavnagar and Surendranagar.
