The Jiah Khan death case has seen a new turn with the CBI filing its chargesheet on December 9. The CBI has charged Jiah's boyfriend Sooraj Pancholi with abetment to suicide under section 306 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Sooraj was in court earlier today to collect the chargesheet.
Jiah, 25, died by suicide at her Juhu residence on June 3, 2013. A six-page letter, handed over by her family after Jiah’s death, indicated that she was unhappy living with her boyfriend, actor Sooraj Pancholi. Sooraj, son of actors Zarina Wahab and Aditya Pancholi, was taken into custody a week after her death but was released on bail soon after.
