All India Institute of Medical Sciences Bhubaneswar (AIIMS Bhubaneswar), formerly Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose All India Institute of Medical Sciences, is a medical college and medical research public university located in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, India.The institute operates autonomously under the aegis of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.It was established in 2014 and the foundation stone was laid by late Bharat Ratna; Atal Bihari Vajpayee, on 15 July 2003.
PMSSY was officially launched in March 2006 and six AIIMS-like medical institutes were announced for under-served states in Patna, Raipur, Bhubaneswar, Jodhpur and Rishikesh.Theses were originally assigned ₹ 332 crore (equivalent to ₹ 11 billion or US$130 million in 2023) per institution, a sum which was raised to ₹ 820 crore (equivalent to ₹ 18 billion or US$220 million in 2023) in 2010. They were later retroactively denoted "Phase I institutes".
