Gangadharaiah Parameshwara (born 6 August 1951) is an Indian politician who is currently serving as the Home Minister of Karnataka since 27 May 2023. He has also served as the seventh Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, and longest-serving President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee for two consecutive terms.
The Home Department is the nodal agency for various schemes and services of the state government, such as passport, Sakala, and police. It also provides online services, documents, and annual reports.
The Home Minister is the head of the Home Department. Administratively, the Department is headed by an Additional Chief Secretary to Government/Principal Secretary to Government to supervise the overall policy and administration of the Department in addition to the Police Department.
