To measure the 31 P spin–spin relaxation ( T2 ), the Carr–Purcell–Meiboom–Gill (CPMG) spin–echo pulse sequence was carried out. The pulse length was calibrated to the 31 P π/2 pulse length of 3.4 μs and a π-pulse of length 6.8 μs and used with the respective recycle delays in all three bone samples.
