    This article provides information about various services offered by the government of Meghalaya, including registration of births and deaths, obtaining birth and death certificates, registering societies, applying for a marriage certificate etc.

    Compulsory registration of births, deaths and still births under the Registration of Births and Deaths Act, 1969. Forms available with health officer free of cost. Responsibility lies with heads of Registrations Units called Registrar. Online portal rolled out in 2019 for 5 units so far.

    Apply online for a marriage certificate under Special Marriage Act 43 of 1954 from Political Department as a G2C service after registering. All can apply for this service.

    Apply online to obtain birth certificate from Director of Health Services as a G2C service after registering. Individuals can apply for this service.

    Apply online to obtain death certificate from Director of Health Services as a G2C service after registering .Individuals can apply for this service .

    Societies operating in Meghalaya can have their society registered by applying online through uploading supporting documents such as Memorandum and voters cards along with payment made through Treasury Challan . The certificate is generated , signed and made available to download .

    Married couples or To-Be married couples can apply online by filling form along with supporting documents like age proof , identity proof etc . Banns are published on notice board before receiving SMS notification to make payment and fix date .Certificate is handed over at end ceremony.

    This portal allows users to register births, deaths and still births online in India. Users need to fill a prescribed form and submit it within 21 days of the event, along with supporting documents and payment.

  2. Application for Death Certificate; Birth / Death Certificates prior to year 2016 (which are registered) are available on Portal. From Year 01.01.2016, Birth and Death certificates are available on Civil Registration System & can be obtained from respctive ward office CFC Centres.
