मरुत् हे वायूचे एक नाव आहे. हनुमंत वायुपुत्र असल्यामुळे त्यांना मारुती म्हणतात. लंकेत हनुमंताने रावणाच्या वनांचा विध्वंस केला म्हणून त्याला ‘वनारी’ म्हणतात. अंजनीदेवीचे पुत्र असल्यामुळे अंजनीसुत म्हणतात.
