Apr 9, 2024 · Designers created an abstract Ericsson logo that indirectly hints at the company’s field of activity rather than directly. It symbolizes innovation and a business approach to work, as the telecommunications equipment manufacturer uses progressive technologies.
1942 – 1982. The new logo looks very modern. It features a very delicate, elegant “Ericsson” calligraphic inscription with bold, large “LM” initials in the background. The “Ericson” portion of the name is placed on a diagonal and has the last letter curve and underline the word.

The winning proposal, which was created by Terry Moore, a designer with AID, is best described as a single figure comprising two inseparable elements – the name Ericsson presented in a special typography and a stylized E. When the question of a company color was addressed, however, the project group was unable to reach an agreement.

The first clear signs that Ericsson had become an international company were evident in the 1920s. The familiar circle symbol was gradually overshadowed by the name Ericsson in bold black letters and placed diagonally above and to the right.
