About Narmada. On 2/10/97, the Gujarat government created six new districts including Narmada district. Nandod, Dediyapada and Sagbara talukas of Bharuch district and Tilakwada taluka of Vadodara district built Narmada district. New taluka Garudeshwar was formed on 18/02/2014.

The Narmada basin extends over an area of 98796 Sq.km. and lies between east longitudes 72-32' to 81-45' and north latitudes 21-20' to 23-45'lying on the northern extremity of the Deccan Plateau, the basin covers large areas in the states of M.P.,Gujarat and a comparatively smaller areas in Maharashtra.
