Erik Phillips (born June 15, 1995), better known online as M3RKMUS1C, or Merk for short, is an American YouTube gamer, streamer, and comedic content creator. One of M3RKMUS1C's most popular original video series is "Quad Feed with Every Gun", which features him accomplishing quad feed kills with every gun in various games, mainly Call of Duty ones. He has also uploaded various CS:GO case openings, in which he has shown remarkable luck in obtaining extremely rare knife skins, such as the Karambit "Doppler" and the M9 Bayonet "Doppler".
Apart from his gaming content, M3RKMUS1C is also recognized for his distinctive split personalities, including Melvin, FaZe Booce, and Brayden. He employs these personas for comedic effect, frequently switching between them in his videos. Melvin represents a stereotypical nerd, FaZe Booce is a stoner and a member of COD clan FaZe. The last one is Brayden, a squeaker who only plays family friendly games and he doesn't use any rough language, and refers to guns as Neepow Glunguses; he requires laser weapons and exo suits.
Erik started out on YouTube with numerous music and guitar related videos. He made numerous covers and solos of songs and even some video game soundtracks, such as the Modern Warfare 2 Victory themes. When he posted his first Gun Game Reactions, however, his channel started growing drastically, and his channel transformed from primarily music to gaming. In his "REACTING TO OLD VIDEOS!", Erik acknowledges how boring and quiet he was when he re watched his older videos, and is grateful of how his YouTube career has transformed him into the complete opposite.
M3RK is now engaged as of January 31 after being in a long distance relationship with Kayrina. Some of his fans don’t quite like it, and tell him their relationship is rushed. This controversy only escalated with the interference of another YouTuber, Eight Thoughts.
Sudden Content Shift
M3RKMUS1C's sudden shift to solo content has left many of his devoted fans scratching their heads. For years, Merk's hilarious antics with his close-knit group of friends were the bread and butter of his channel, drawing in millions of views and loyal subscribers. However, ever since he got engaged to his girlfriend in 2018, something seemed off. Merk's transformation was swift, and his friends were nowhere to be found on his channel. Fans were quick to pick up on the change and started asking questions. However, Merk's radio silence only added fuel to the fire, leaving his devoted subscribers in the dark. Many of his long-time friends, including Mike, Andrew, Omar, and Jesse, were suddenly blocked, and countless fan-favorite videos were deleted without explanation. Rumors also started circulating that Merk's girlfriend, Kayrina, was behind the sudden change in content and the rift between Merk and his friends. Some fans believed that she was manipulating him and forcing him to focus solely on her, causing even more drama. But with Merk's complete refusal to comment on the situation, even when asked directly on a live stream, fans were left to speculate on their own. All in all, the drama surrounding M3RKMUS1C has been intense, with many of his subscribers left to speculate about the truth behind his actions. The only thing that's certain is that something has changed, and it's left a rift between Merk and his once-loyal fanbase.

•One of them is Bespeckled Cephalopod, who mostly appeared in Infinite Warfare videos, and is based off of the Mr Smuggypuss decoration.
•Another is Dr. Enthusiastic, who appears mostly when Erik opens supply drops. Dr. Enthusiastic is overly hyper and hyped, even if he gets three common items.
•Another is the Halloween Hacker, who has a low pitch voice and wears a Nintendo Power Glove. He only appeared in one video.
•He often plays games with his friends and siblings: MmHD 1080p (Matt), M3RKRAMPAGE (Mike), M3RKMOJINX (Andrew) Kutline (Jesse), Oh Omah (Omar), Foecused (Evan), dankasorususX (Nicole), She Knives (Tina), and his wife, SodaPopCandy (Kayrina).
•He has a Second gaming channel named "Nerd Plays" & a semi-active music channel called "Musick".
